The second week of the workshop of the project “Gift of creativity – a small school of art” was very successful.
The third hour was reserved for ornament. The children got acquainted with the meaning of ornament and with examples in art and design. They were given the task to draw sunglasses on paper, and then to use crayons and felt-tip pens to decorate the frame of the glasses, drawing various plant and geometric motifs. The children’s imagination was at an enviable level. We cut out the rest of the paper and instead of imaginary glasses on the glasses, we glued a transparent colored plastic foil. We got the original, glasses for the summer! We talked about the interaction of different colors and their meaning.
In the fourth class, when asked “What is origami?”, Most of the children shouted: “We know, it is a spice that is put on pizza and similar dishes.” After explaining the concept and showing examples of origami that we made for them, they immediately wanted them to make something out of paper. They were given the task of making a boat. Step by step, carefully following how the teacher shows, a multitude of paper boats soon appeared on the table and the children got acquainted with the art of folding paper. The task was successfully completed and the introductory part for the next class was completed, where they will paint the boats together, and then paint the sea on a large piece of paper.
Hour by hour, work by work, and slowly but surely we are preparing for the September exhibition.
In addition to creative tasks and socializing with children, we talk about teamwork, respect for other people and good behavior. The goal of the project is not only artistic literacy, but also removing children from the streets and influencing their inclusion in normal social flows.
