The project “Gift of Creativity – Small School of Art” is slowly coming to an end. There is one month left until the exhibition that will crown the project, and which will show all the best children’s works from the workshops that were organized.
In the previous three hours, the following techniques were used: tempera painting, graphite pencil drawing and charcoal drawing. The experiment of entering the abstract world has begun, with the task “Imagination creates everything”. By brushing and spraying paint on paper, the children created an unusual world colored by spontaneous strokes. During the painting, we were reminded of the contrast, warm and cold colors, the meaning of layered painting and talked about abstract art.
In the next class, we returned to drawing with the help of basic shapes. The children chose to make a bird, but this time without the help of a teacher. During the work, we discussed the importance of symmetry and proportion in drawing.
In the charcoal technique, drawing nature, we talked about light and learned how to gradually create a transition between light and dark in drawing. The children researched on paper all the possibilities of coal and rubber and how much shading of a certain object evokes its shape.
The fact that the project of removing children from the streets and basic art literacy is very successful so far is also shown by the fact that the workshops are not falling apart as time passes. Despite the fact that they do not have the obligation to come regularly, children still choose to spend their time learning the basic concepts and techniques of fine arts.
