Join our course Characteristics of academic writing, research techniques and citation methods and gain the experience you need to write papers independently.
As part of the course, we will present the structure of academic work and explain to students how to practically apply certain databases for literature , such as – searching.srb, Rastko Project: Serbian Culture Library, COBISS + Virtual Library, Wikimedia Serbia, Science Citation Index Expanded ™, Social Sciences Citation Index® and Arts & Humanities Citation Index®.
The lecturers of the course are Dr. Tadija Stefanović and Dr. Ivana Ćirić.
We will point out the importance of making accurate literature as well as the difference between citing literature and bibliography. They will be explained to the participants through practical examples different citation styles (with special, more detailed reference to the Chicago citation style) and the importance of adhering to rules within these styles will be pointed out in order to reduce the possibility of classifying written work as plagiarism.
In addition, participants will learn how and under what conditions use online services Ithenticate, etc. of the Turnitin company. Also, terms such as citation index, categorization of journals and bibliometric indicators will be explained, with special reference to the meaning and importance of the Serbian citation index. In addition, participants will be able to learn the basic concepts of copyright, social media copyright and the Creative Commons license.
