Jan 29, 2022

Within the project “Green School of Belgrade”, the first info day was held today, followed by a lecture at the elementary school. Drinka Pavlović in the Old Town. Fourth graders attending this school today learned more about pollution and environmental protection, as well as the importance of recycling and the benefits it brings. The project is being implemented # KAS under the auspices of the Secretariat for Environmental Protection of the City of Belgrade.

This project aims to educate and raise awareness among elementary school students about the importance of ecology and environmental protection, both in their local government and beyond. The project includes activities in five primary schools in the city of Belgrade. The main target group to which this project refers are the children of the fourth grade of primary schools, who, in addition to lectures and education within the project, will also have the activity of planting trees in the yard of their primary school. During the project, elementary school students will have the opportunity to hear interesting things and learn about environmental protection and various creative possibilities for the use of secondary raw materials. In each school, in addition to lectures, there will be screenings of documentaries on environmental protection, ecology and recycling, but specially adapted for children, after which they will be able to talk to the lecturer about how it affects them and what they think about it.

At the end of the project, in each of the schools where the lectures were held, students will plant seedlings that they will keep and nurture until the end of primary school. The idea is for the project to be repeated in the years ahead, so that each generation has its own trees that will symbolize their growth and growth, but also their care for the environment, thus gaining self-sustainability and further, prolonged, positive impact of the project.
