SMALL SCHOOL OF ARTS: MODELING

Jan 29, 2022

The workshops of the project “Gift of creativity – a small school of art” are slowly coming to an end.

During the past week, we worked with the children on modeling. Plasticine, one of the children’s favorite materials for work, was used for three-dimensional shaping. Ideal for developing motor skills, plasticine promotes endurance in work.

In the first modeling class, the children decided to make animals on their own initiative. Very quickly, small sculptures of houses, cats, lizards and snakes lined the table. Through working with plasticine, children learned about the size and position of shapes in nature, symmetry and proportion.

In the next class, the children were given the task to make a useful object such as a cup, vase or basket. Reminding the children of the previous classes in which they created certain objects with the help of basic shapes, both in the drawing and in space, they were shown several ways in which they can approach the creation of a certain shape. We have made wonderful coloristic but also very realistic works, almost ready for use.

We are getting closer to the exhibition, where we will show the best works from our “Little School of Art”. More on that soon
